Great vet, competitive prices

by Lacey1999

Dr Widener is a great vet, and will work with you to find out why your pet is sick. He charges well below what most clinics around town would charge. He really cares about any pet and will make sure you dont spend your money on unnecessary treatments or medicines for your pet. Although my only complain would be that his assistants are not up to par but its a small price to pay for great care at low prices.

The Best Care For Your Pets!

by Kelli Coffman

First I would like to say that I have never written a review about ANYTHING! I am one of those horrible people who always reads reviews but never finds the time to write one. I felt compelled to write this because I am so thankful I found Dr. Widener! About 20 years ago I worked for an old fashioned Vet who really cared about the animals, didn’t order a bunch of unnecessary tests and would take some time to figure out the best treatment for the animal. I didn’t think they existed anymore, but that is what you get with Dr. Widener.

My min pin puppy jumped out of my son’s arms and landed wrong on the wood floor. Dr. Widener showed me the x-rays and said that he really needed a bone plate because it was nearly impossible to get those tiny bones to fit back together perfectly with this type of break. It would be an expensive (approx. 2000) surgery, which I hadn’t factored into my budget. He gave me all the information I needed to make a decision, he said that it would heal without the bone plate but that just by running around the yard he could break it again because it isn’t lined up correctly and it would always be a weak spot. Unfortunately that is the only bone surgery he doesn’t do, as it requires specialty equipment that he doesn’t have. He called several specialists and gave me the option of taking him to a specialty clinic or having a specialist come to his clinic. I wanted to have the surgery at his clinic, not only was that a less expensive option, but I also wanted to have Dr. Widener there during the surgery.

He assisted in that surgery for 4.5 hours but didn’t charge me anything for his time; just the supplies that he used. I know financially it would have been better for him to send me to the specialty clinic; it would have saved him many hours that could have been spent seeing other patients. I don’t know another Vet that would have done that! He also called over the weekend to see how our little guy was doing; making sure everything was going well. I have finally found a Vet that I have complete confidence in!

If you want a smart, caring Veterinarian that really loves animals and won't recommend unnecessary tests or treatment, go to Dr. Widener at Farmhouse!

Best Ever

by Dieago

I took my 2 dogs in because they were throwing up every day. I thought it was going to be Super! Expensive and complicated. But, he actually took the time to do a good interview and tried to get to what was causing the problem, We figured out it was because they were eating grass and this was making them throw up. I know if I would have went to Banfield or Hwks prarie vets like I did in the past, they would have run every test they could and it would have cost a me alot!! I walked out of there with a new found confidence in a vet that I never had at other veterinary hospitals in the past. the vet has over 20 years in practice and I was very impressed!! I WILL NEVER GO ANYWHERE ELSE !

Wonderful Vet!

by amberlynne1

My dog started having a really bad reaction due to having fleas, he worked with me and found a company that helped us out with the bill since I couldnt afford it all at the time. He helped me through to get what was needed and he wasnt concerned with making a huge profit. He wanted my dog to be well. I will be back!!
