Go in expecting poor service, enjoy looking at the Alaska to South Puget Sound seafood history decorating the wall and your see-into table, and enjoy the adequate-to-delicious seafood offerings.
The Oyster House

The first time I was there, my dad took me for supper. It was about 1947. I ordered a steak and he ordered olympia oysters. Since I'd never had an oyster, i had to try one. I sent the steak back and had a plate of those puppys. I live in Spokane, so I've only been back a few times. The last time, my friend and I had two complete oyster dinners. It was heaven. I have since gone to Shelton and got several loads of them. Stay open, I'll be back. I'm hooked.

We stopped at The Oyster House after cross country flight and ate everything in sight. Both cod and chips and oysters and chips were terrific. Cole slaw with either raisins or currents was the best we've ever had. We tried to return on our way back to airport but two weeks had past and we couldn't remember where we were or how we found it. Now that we're home, I'm hoping they will give me their recipe for cole slaw so I can make it myself.
- Pros: Cole Slaw
An Olympia Icon

I remember going here as a kid for Olympia Oysters (an absolute delicacy) almost 50 years ago and was sad when I came back to town a few years past to find it closed. It is nice to have an old friend back and almost as good as it used to be. Like the 3 Crabs in Sequim, The Olympia Oyster House is a must when vivsiting the South Sound.
- Pros: Food, Location, History
