You've gotta REALLY want it..... We picked Affairs as the vendor for our wedding cake - we had seen/sampled the goods and had my heart set. We couldn't decide on one cake, so we requested two smaller cakes instead. One was dark chocolate and one carrot with cream cheese frosting. They looked beautiful with the contrasting colors and tasted even better. The only bummer was that I seriously had to stalk the woman who was in charge of weddings....and that was just to set up an appt. to place my order. I was up for the challenge though, and once we connected, everything went smoothly. If you're having an elaborate formal wedding, I would recommend looking at other places as well as Affairs. You may feel you need more one-on-one attention or quicker call backs for the money you'll be forking over. If you're like us, planning a somewhat laid-back event, wanting to give your business to someone local, and willing to be reasonably flexible....give Affairs a shot.

Bad customer Service, Good desserts. I had always heard that Affairs has great desserts. So, for my bridal shower we ordered a wonderful sounding 12 layer strawberry cake decorated with chocolate dipped strawberries on top. We ordered it to be ready at 10AM which the shop said would be fine.

When I came to pick it up at 1:45PM the cake was not ready. It was frosted but undecorated and was told the only one who could decorate it is the baker who was out on a delivery. Having an appointment at 2PM, there was no way I could wait extra time for the Baker to return to the store. After paying for the cake, we took it home, went to the appt and then directly to another Baker who said they could make the chocolate dipped strawberries for us.

At the party, we decorated the cake ourselves and served it. The cake turned our to be a 12 layer LEMON cake. I would have never served a lemon cake with strawberry garnish if I had known that Affairs mixed that up too!

Needless to say, after the cake not being ready on time, decorating it ourselves and then discovering it to be the complete wrong flavor, were we extremely disappointed. After the event, we called and left 3 messages with the front counter girls to please have someone call us back. To date NO ONE has bothered to return the calls.

Editorial Review. For the sweet-tooth in us all: hand-dipped chocolate truffles and specialty cheesecakes made daily at this University Place establishment.

To die for!. These chocolates and desserts are TO DIE FOR. If you are looking for a special gift for a loved one or yourself this is definately the place to shop.
