A favorite in Puyallup. Powerhouse: used to be great, but still pretty good.

The beer is good and wait staff friendly and helpful, but I was disappointed in my last visit to one of my favorite local brew houses. The Brew is as good as ever (the pale is my favorite), but what happened to the food? My mouth has been watering all year in anticipation of the seasonal Hungarian Goulash. When I came in last October and tried a bowl, it was so good I bought out the rest and ate Goulash for a week. In my recent visit, It was bland and disappointing. The Powerhouse is still a great place to hang out with a fun variety of beer, cool atmosphere and easy downtown location. I just hope they can track down their old chef.

Not so bad. I stopped by for lunch a few weeks ago, I hadn't been in in about 2 years and I was very disappointed. The menu was lacking, the service was slow and the food was just not as good as I remember. I'm hoping third times a charm and it will be as good as I remember in 2009

Things have really changed at the PowerHouse. So, what happened to the good food at the PowerHouse?

I hadn't been to the PowerHouse for a couple of years and decided to take my wife there for a beer and something to eat. I thought it was kind of weird that the parking lot was less than 1/2 full at 9:30 on a Friday night, but I chalked it up to the economy.

We ordered our second choice beer, they were out of IPA, and an appetizer. The beer was pretty good but the appetizer was just nasty. They are using frozen pizza crust now and it is the really cheap cardboard kind. A not very good quality canned sauce and cheese food product (I don't think it can be labeled as cheese). Even the staff was embarassed by the poor quality.

What a change in the way this place is run, no wonder it was less than half full on a friday night. The management could be doing a lot better since there really isn't a lot of competition in the area.

We won't be going back.
