Harbor Monsoon Restaurant

Not as good as it used to be. Our family has been stopping here on our way through Gigthe Harbor for years. In the past the food was good enough I would sometimes pick up take out on my way home to Renton. This time was terrible.

We stopped on a friday night after the dinner rush. We know that because parking lot was clearing when we pulled in.

We sat down at 7:05 and it took 45 minutes for the food to come out.. We ordered one of the dinner combos. The one with Mongolian Beef, Sweet and sour Pork and Honey walnut prawns.

The mongolian beef was not spicy at all and was only warm in temperature. The honey walnut prawns were breaded and overcooked. I've had these prawns before at other places and they were never breaded. The prawns were in a sauce that was so sweet my wife couldn't eat it.

One of the things we liked in the past was the hot and sour soup. The dinner was supposed to come with soup and when we said we would like hot and sour they said the dinner came with Corn Chowder soup not the normal chinese soups like H & S, Egg drop, or wonton.

When you have already driven in friday night traffic from Renton accross the bridge and you have a son that is falling asleep at the table because the food took so long, you don't complain you just pay the bill and don't come back.

We will not be stopping there again.…
