The Scene – Tucked inside the Friday Harbor House hotel, this classy dining room beckons with charm and fresh flavor. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer sweeping views of the marina, especially compelling at sunset. – – The Food – Gastronomic masterpieces utilize fresh garden organics and seafood straight from the waters surrounding the San Juans. The ever-evolving menu spotlights what's fresh--perhaps oysters, baked with nasturtium-and-chive flower-butter, that melt in the mouth or a warm goat-cheese salad with just-picked lettuces. Beautiful hotel, parking not practical
by solidfoods1
The hotel was under construction when we went. Due to them building in front of the entrance it was difficult to see where the entrance when arriving. The continental breakfast was good, but the contruction noise took away from the beautiful view. Most of the staff was very friendly, except the manager who never talked and gave snooty looks. The parking was terrible. It takes two people to park a car, and you have literally 1-2 inches on either side, in a mid size vehicle. In order to get your vehicle into this contraption you had to back into handicap parking to make it in the spot, unless management parks their car in that spot, even though not handicaped. Do not take your truck or big SUV, you will have to park farther away.
- Pros: bath products, views, clean
- Cons: parking, unfriendly management, contruction noise
Few places compare

Nothing like taking the ferry from north of Seattle out to the San Juans. Honeymooned out there.
Appraching Friday Harbor after a 1.5 hour ferry ride you feel like you're arriving in a hidden cove that few people know about.
Friday Harbor House's rooms are immaculate. Very stylish. Up-to-date. Nice whirlpool tub. Lots of light and windows. And a gas fireplace that is so cool to burn all the time (if you have a wood fireplace, you know the thrill of a neat, safe, no-maintenance gas flame).
Awesome food. We ate breakfast every day...fresh fruits, everything served w/class; dinner good too. Try other casual places for lest cost lunch/dinners.
If I get back to the area, I'll stay at Friday Harbor House.
- Pros: Style/comfort of room, Food served, Upper floor view
- Cons: Cost but who cares

Loved the town of Friday Harbor, seemed very relaxing and laid back and on a different time schedule from the rest of the world. We would recommend Friday Harbor House to anyone planning to vacation in this area.
