Truly Great Greek Food, Truly Great Service

This is my very first review on CitySearch, inspired by this truly great little restaurant. Honestly, its so hard to find good Greek food anywhere, that I wasn't expecting much. The interior was a little bit cheesy, but someone put a lot of effort into it. The service was fantastic! It was honestly the friendliest service I've had in a long time anywhere. I ordered the Lamb Shoulder with the Greek Salad. I was in Greece for 3 weeks in April, and I have to tell you that my meal was VERY authentic! The Greek Salad was traditional w/no lettuce and no heavy dressing, just a lot of good herbs, feta, and light olive oil & maybe some lemon or vinegar. The lamb was superb!! It was so perfectly done...I was right back in Greece with every bite!! The spices and marinade were subtle, just enough to compliment the natural flavor of the lamb. The meat was lean and cooked until I could cut it with a fork, but incredibly moist at the same time. The pita was not the kind we're used to iin America, which leads me to believe its probably homemade. And the Tzatziki was so garlic-y as to burn my mo9uth just slightly...yumm! The Nemea wine I had had before at another Greek place in Seattle. Its always a good bold bet for a Greek red. I'm sure their desserts are yummy too, but I honestly didn't have any room after that huge lamb shoulder which I ate every last bite of!!
If you want some premade frozon gyro meat wrapped in packaged pita with some yogurt and lettuce, you're not worthy of this restaurant....go somewhere else :)
If you're looking for honest to goodness GREAT GREEK FOOD...GO HERE!
- Pros: Fabulous Food, VERY Friendly Service, price is very fair
- Cons: interior a little cheesy

What can I say...the service was great...the food was out of this world...the best Avgalemeno soup I have ever had. What a great restaurant to have in such a small community. Also you can buy their Greek dressing as they have taken the opportunity to bottle it and sale it. THIS IS A MUST if you are a Greek food fan!
My friend had worked here in her early 20's and we set out on a road trip across Canada for 2 weeks (Portsmouth, NH to Quebec, Quebec across Canada to British Columbia, to Bellingham, WA) and she promised me this would be the last meal of our road trip and it would not disappoint and she was right. We talked about it every day for two weeks and it had a lot of build up and it was well up to it all.
- Pros: Avgalemeno Soup
- Cons: They only had one bottle of dressing left to sell
Authentic Greek food

Mykonos is just off I-5 at the Bellingham Airport exit. Their dining area features classic Greek columns, while the bar area is relaxed and welcoming. They feature a full range of Greek dishes, my favorite being the "Arni Psito" with New Zealand lamb and roast potatoes - washed down with a good ale and you still get change out of a $20 bill.
- Pros: Inexpensive, Friendly, Good food
- Cons: Hard to find
