Bakery and coffeehouse near the ferry terminal offers sweet and savory pastries, a large tea selection and other gourmet selections.
Editor's Tips
- Know Before You Go:
- Park your car in the ferry line and walk to the bakery if you're facing a long wait--though the bakery can get crowded when a ferry first arrives.
- Look Goo:
- The bakery only takes cash. There's a Washington Mutual right across the street.
TOAST AND TEA!!!
by alisonkramer
This is clearly the best bakery in town, too bad everyone knows it and the crowds are almost unbearable these days. I recommend one of the many fun, exotic teas with two thick-cut pieces of homemade wheat toast, loaded with yummy butter and locally produced strawberry jam. THe best breakfast for miles. Granola is the best, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. My friend and I even called the bakery one time while we were making granola to ask if we could talk to the baker about his secrets. He totally obliged, and our granola was (almost) as good as Blackbirds. Only on Bainbridge.
- Pros: Pastries, Service, Atmosphere
- Cons: Not enough seating, CROWDS!
Epitome of Bainbridge Island.

Blackbird has long been my favorite place to go to experience the real Bainbridge Island. The people are friendly and the food is more than awesome. What can I say? I like toast.
