This place is not for the HIGH maintenance female- real sawdust on the floor, tables bussed sporadically,
buffet style service.
The food is better than any high-end joint. Pork ribs, brisket, and pork shoulder highly, highly recommeded- and always perfectly cooked in the pit style of bbqing. The meats are just lean enough to allow moisture and smoky flavor to permeate thruout.
Simple side dishes and adequat salad bar for bbq joint.
The owner is almost always in and has as much character as the place.
Did I mention the price-$13.95 for 3 large meat choices with beans, salad, french bread, and a quarter of raw onion.
Don't be cheap and share a plate- take home the leftovers for lunch.

- Cons: good location in Castroville, but it's in Castroville(middle of nowhere)
