Fresh doughnuts in quirky downtown C-ville shop – 50's vibe doughnut shop features cross-section of C-ville clientele. Aparently, name comes from the fact that they use potato flour to make the doughnuts.
When we were there on an early Saturday morning, we noticed all kinds of clients visiting the shop: college kids, people on their way to retail jobs, mothers, tourists, etc. They all have one thing in common: they know a quality doughnut.
Wife and I both ordered three w/coffee and sat at the ancient counter and munched while we watched the other patron's file in. Doughnuts come in yeast-raised and cake varieties. Wife especially liked the cinnamon/sugar cake and I liked the chocolate yeast-raised. Coffee was nothing special, brewed with a Bunn-o-matic machine. Liquid cream dispenser is one-of-a-kind straight from the 50's.
Get there early, cause they close once they sell-out for the day.
