It's OK Chinese food for Sonoma County, but doesn't compare to San Francisco

by nudenicko

t's OK for Sonoma County, but I would say below average if compared to San Francisco chinese cuisine. If you want really tasty chinese cuisine I highly recommend driving down to San Francisco where there are dozens of very good chinese restaurants all over Chinatown, the Richmond District (Clement & Geary ) and some more in the Sunset District (Irving St.). My experience has been that the Sonoma Co. chinese restaurants aren't very good at all as I've been to this one, Dynasty, Gary Chu in SR, Great China in Santa Rosa. Confucious does a decent of making basic dishes such as Chicken Chow Mein or Vegetable Fried Rice, but if you want specialty dishes such as Princess Prawns or Peking Duck or Sesame Chicken, I would say go to SF, you're not going to find it in this county. I used to live in the city and the chinese restaurants there are great.

What's the Big Idea Here, No One Writing Review for this Place

by couldnt

Oh I know why - because it is in Rohnert Park. Where is Rohnert Park? Don't even bother trying to know. If you are unfortunate enough to live here or be around here, here is one of the only saving graces. Best Chinese food I know about period (and I know of my share, believe me I am a traveling man). So many places are just garbage and the servers are awkward. At this place you are greeted well and the food is top notch for it's low key style. Better food than at more prestigious Chinese joints. What can I say I am a regular here. I don't want to get to into it, but basically you're not going to find a place where the value of food surpasses the price and the people working there are always glad to see you (unless you have a bad attitude).

  • Pros: Best kept secret of Northern California, possibly the whole West Coast to be honest with you.
  • Cons: If there were I would tell you, to me there aren't.

best chinese food I've ever had

by kubla2

My friends and I got the big meal (17.99 per person)------soup, appetizer, entree for each person, dessert. We were stuffed for the rest of the day (we ate @ 12n). We didnt need to eat ANYTHING for the rest of the day. We even took 3 take-out boxes because we couldnt eat all of it. It was , just, fantastic....that's all there is to it.

  • Pros: gigantic menu, very few people , quick service
  • Cons: small drink menu
