What People Are Saying About Bluebird Restaurant

The Scene – Founded in 1914, this quaint eatery began as a candy store, ice-cream parlor and soda fountain. Located on Logan's historic Main Street, the restaurant has retained its old-time charm and ambiance, as well as the famous high-quality fare. – – The Food – Menu items range from traditional dinners of chicken and roast, to yuppier items like the vegetarian croissant sandwich. Don't even try to leave the premises without sampling at least one of the many varieties of ice-cream sundaes. – – Don't miss the Bluebird's delectable potato…
Editor's Tips
- Where to Park?:
- There is plenty of street parking available across the street near the old Logan Tabernacle building.
Sad remnant of a better time...

The Bluebird Restaurant should have it all. It's a charming location. You enter to find the nostaligia of an old fashioned soda fountain. The history is palpable.
The only problem with the Bluebird Restaurant is that the food is absolutely terrible. I mean, basically inedible. You would be hard pressed to find any restaurant in Utah with worse food. If the menu is in keeping with the history of the place (which seems hardly possible) then this is an example of holding on too tightly to the past. It's time to move on.
You know your experience at a restaurant is not going to be good when you ask the experienced waitress what her favorite item on the menu is and she gets a blank expression. She finally comes up with a cheezy starter that we might like, but can't recommend a single main course. It's not long before we understand why. By the time we leave the restaurant we have eaten about four bites of three courses. We spend most of the time there trying to dissect a sandwhich or marvel at the bizarre flavor of a meat-based dish.
It's time for Bluebird to create a menu that hearkens back to its roots without catering only to the elderly locals that inhabit its back tables. And for goodness sake, make the soda fountain actually work again. There is a revival of soda fountains going on and visitors would absolutely love it. I have high hopes that this lovely restaurant can turn things around.
By the way, anyone who says the food here is okay must be friends of the owners because no one that we saw enjoying food there would be young and savvy enough to operate a computer, let alone post a review.
A long time favorite

We love going to the Bluebird. Everything we've tried is great. We like the Bluebird chicken and the delicious hot rolls.
The interior is fun, take your kids so they can see the soda counter. Also, they have great chocolates!
- Pros: great prices, great food, neat old building
We Visit often

We lived in Logan for 3 years while I attended Utah State University. The food at bluebird was always gratifying. I visited it on a college budget, and still walked away with money in my pocket. The prices are wonderful, the staff pleasant and the atmosphere great! I have eaten out many of times, and the Bluebird Cafe is my all time favorite restaurant!
An Old Favorite

The Bluebird has been around for forever, but it always offers excellent food. Sometimes the service is questionable--a little slow, but the rolls and meal make up for it! I would highly recommend the Bluebird Chicken.
- Pros: inexpensive, great food, atmosphere
- Cons: parking, service
