Maddox Ranch House is a family-style restaurant that serves generous portions of American-style fine foods at popular prices. We are Utah's original steakhouse with a reputation for the world's finest beef. Our steaks are truly satisfying, as is our unique skinless famous fried chicken. We feature many other unique, award-winning recipes that include turkey steak, shrimp steak and all-natural bison. We offer an outstanding variety of various meat and potato recipes, including roast beef and chicken fried steak. We love children and offer a satisfying kids menu that is sure to please. Reservations are accepted and recommended but we never turn folks away.

The Scene
Big families (with at least three generations around the table) and large groups indicate that coming to Maddox is a special occasion. The aromas of fresh-baked pies, homemade rolls and cornbread whet the appetite.
The Food
Big portions of old-fashioned meat and potatoes. Excellent chicken, beef, lamb and buffalo are the main attractions, with fresh steamed vegetables, baked potato and homemade soup or salad to keep you busy. Fried chicken and chicken-fried bison steak are two favorites. Steak and lamb chops are popular, or try the herb-crusted medallion of buffalo. Save the filet mignon stuffed with foie gras for a special event. For dessert, savor the homemade fruit or cream pie.

All the locals rave about this place. I gave it a try and found the steaks to be very tough, overcooked and no flavor at all.

This place is worth the travel. If you have never been here it is a dinning treat. I have been here many times and I am not going to sit here and tell you that you will have the best experience no matter what. I have found that people are different in many ways. This place has a very ranch house atmosphere consider lively by some and not romantic enough by others. That being said I have had one of the most romantic dinners of my life at this restaurant but it is about timing and most of all you. If you enjoy really processed hormone fed meat then you will not enjoy your meal here. If you have found the perfect steak grown in the perfect place and only served at <insert restaurant here> then you may not like this. The Beef is raised by the ranch and served in there establishment. They also raise bison and serve buffalo burgers that are an organic treat. As mentioned in many articles the rolls are good but if you can bake you can make rolls this good at home and your favorite grandmas recipe jam is better than ras-butter. Don't take me wrong ,there good, but you just can't find this steak else where do your self a favor try it. If you don't like it there it is. As for me and many of the people I know we are appalled to see so many reviews where people think you should go for fried chicken and bread. Go enjoy the atmosphere and the one of a kind steaks.

Glorified roadhouse grub. Forgotten parts of the order, when it was not even busy. Taste and quality that does not justify the price. Maybe for the 'old time' feel but not for the food.
