The Scene – Midway's European-styled Inn on the Creek sits nestled under the eye of Mt. Timpanogos, amidst construction squalor and gorgeous natural beauty. – – The Food – The menu at Inn on the Creek isn't extensive, but certainly offers enough variety to please. The timbale of lobster appetizer ($7.95) is lobster-tail meat combined with corn and mashed potato, topped with tomato coulis and surrounded by a thick rosemary sauce sprinkled with dried oregano. Lovely to look at, the flavor was delicate and the rosemary sauce and…
bait and switch, clean, broken and horribly managed
by michaelbridan
So we got a "night's stay with 3 course dinner" package including continential breakfast, and we received:
dinner discounted enough to cover one entree and an apetizer and a tip. Three course? and since when do you travel alone?
The CD player began skipping during dinner and no one took note, in fact it finally shut off by itself. When questioned they had no idea and said it was problematic.
nice untrained staff. Staff fumbled around trying to fix problems, find equipment, etc.
Room: clean, spacious and broken.
The jetted tub did not work.
The electrical did not work in the bathroom, no outlets functioning.
The hairdryer could not be moved to be used elsewhere.
The DVD player was missing from the room and you had to choose which two devices you wanted plugged in, TV, cable box, vcr or whatever....
Our scheduled breakfast was botched, I finally had to go to the desk, which was unmanned, locate staff, and ask about the breakfast. They had lost our request. Then I found it on the desk for them, they said it would be up soon. No appology offered.
The operations manual in the room describing how to use the TV, Jetted tub etc but was for a different room, or maybe a different location, or maybe they just made it up.
Upon leaving I ran into a guy to whom they told he could park outback (as they have limited parking) and they had towed him. I was glad to leave the property safely.
Overall ran horribly. Property was nice but obviously in poor functional condition. Advertising was bait and switch. When alerted to all of this they gave us 10% off for all the problems. Unbelievable.
- Pros: clean spacious rooms, decent food, friendly untrained staff
- Cons: broken ammenities, bait and switch advertising, bad management
2nd Best Sunday Brunch Buffet
by ucla
For the Holidays, on certain Sundays ( three to four times a year), this place serves a spit-roasted: pig (a bit stingy on the servings), leg-of-lamb, prime rib and ham. There are few, but decent salads and desserts. Orange juice is however, reconstituted and extra cost. This buffet is on the small side, but much better in quality than any Grand America Buffets.
- Pros: Spit-roasting, Ambiance
- Cons: , Limited Parking
