It's old and not very good.

The hostess acted like we were imposing on her by being there. Our waitress was real nice. The hot sauce was HOT!!! You only get one basket of chips, so enjoy them. The beer, basic swill-bud/miller/coors/light- is by the can, and $2. The place is ran down. The sides come in 'to-go' containers. Bad water. We were ready to go before the food was gone. Everything is totally cheap, though. $4-$8.

  • Pros: cheap, plenty o' parking
  • Cons: bad water, swill beer, surly hostess

I've had the pleasure of working, and living virtually all over Texas in my career. From the Pan Handle to the Lower Rio Grande Valley, El Paso to Dallas. I love Mexican food, and really that's about the only restaurants I look for when out for a meal.

Most of the food I find these days is repetitive, and poorly, done. I wish I had never heard of the word chilpolte. At The Spanish Inn you will find food virtually unchanged since the early1950s. Authentic, delicious, and reliable time after time.

  • Pros: Inexpensive, Reliable, Good Parking
  • Cons: , no tortillas served w, small salsa bowls
