Brian at Sears gave us an estimate for
frontend work on our HHR. Sears kept the estimate to the penny! Car drives like new again. Brian also found a rebate for us from Monroe, again, not something I asked for. We went there even after reading the bad review on this site from 2009 because that person obviously doesn't know how many additional fees there are in Illinois when you buy tires.
I really didn't expect to get the car for a couple of days, but Brian was calling me just several hours later to tell me the car was ready! We picked it up the next day.
HIGHLY recommend!
Bad experience - Attempted over charging - Avoid - Beware. I called 3 times about a Sears price match for a set of four (4) tires before I left my home. I didn't want any surprises when I went to the store. Everything was fine until I walked in the door of the EMPTY store. Then, the automotive manager would not honor terms discussed over the phone. He also instructed his employee to add more charges. Have you ever heard of the following fees for a new tire purchase?: Tire balance $12.25 each, Tire mount $8.50 each, Valve stems $3.99 each. No road hazard warranty on estimate. There were other charges imposed by the state that were reasonable. Think about it. When you go to other places for about $10.00 a tire you get mounting, balancing and valve stems. Forsyth Sears at Hickory Point Mall wanted to charge $24.74 a tire. Avoid doing business here unless you want to overpay.
Editorial Review by Citysearch Editors. Value-minded company offers tires, DieHard batteries and auto accessories. Services include oil change, belt replacement, brake repair and more.
Quick and easy.
I went in about 8:30 in the morning to get a flat tire fixed. There were only a couple other customers there, so several guys came over to help me. After looking at the bad tire, we decided that the tread was low and I needed a new one. They offered to fix it, which I took as a sign they were not trying to pressure me. But then, they tried to tell me that all my tires need to be replaced because they wouldn't pass inspection. I had my inspection last month and passed with flying colors; still, I think I will start taking notice when tires go on sale.
Anyway, it only took them about 15 minutes to do the job, and overall I was pleased with the transaction. The waiting room was pretty clean, and everyone was friendly. Maybe I'm just gullible, but I felt like they were sincerely concerned that my tires would go bald and I would go flying off MoPac during the next rain storm.
