You Get What You Pay For. I was puzzled when reading some of the reviews of Seafood & Spaghetti Works. Since our first visit to Port A in 1992, this restaurant has maintained the atmosphere, quality of food and good service that helps to make Port Aransas such a great town.

My family and I have tried almost all of the menu selections and find their lunch with salad bar to be one of the best value per dollar on the Island. Perhaps our reference or standard of wanting the traditional flavor of Port A and Island life instead of some of the other and newer fine restaurants, which if you closed your eyes, mimics countless other locations, anywhere else accounts for our top rating.

We eat out quit often and yes, once in a great while, found our server to be tired and not too bubbly but have always been treated as valued customers. and this has not always been the case in some of the other locations in Port A. Help is difficult for restaurants in this area and the stability of Spaghetti works in having so many long term employes speaks to the quality of both the owners and the restaurant.

One last comment, their take out pizza is very good and very, very reasonably priced and they must be doing something right to have remained in business for so many years.

No seafood!. Visited 01/20/06, 8pm not crowded. Seated promptly. Seemed close to closing time, was kind of rushed with a order. Waiter unfriendly, tired. Was told the soup was behind us and the salad bar was upstairs. Soup flavor was great but NOT warm enough, good choices at the salad bar but NOT refreshed, some bowls empty. Dinner fries were cold and the sole fried fish was soggy with a tastless flour batter. Fried oysters good. Had to ask for water. Value poor for the prices charged. NO snowbird visitor here.
